Kimberly Mallory grew up in Upstate, New York where she spent most of her summers swimming in the pristine lakes nestled between the Catskills and the Adirondack Mountains. If she wasn’t swimming or boating at the lake, she could be found staging and directing stories where Barbie was always the star of the show. Little did Kimberly know that the countless hours she spent world-building would lead her to a Master’s in Theatre from SUNY at Albany and an MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Vermont College of Fine Arts. She has written and directed several children’s plays and has even had a few of her adult plays produced by Westchester Collaborative Theater in Ossining, NY. A DRAGONFLY IN WINTER is her first completed YA novel.
Works-in-progress: Works in progress include a middle-grade novel about a girl who spends her summers camping in the Adirondacks, as well as an adult full-length play entitled The Actress and The Mortician of Evermore. In this Halloween inspired drama/musical, Pricilla uncovers a secret that could change the course of her life—forever! Kimberly is also pleased to announce a short version of this play has been selected to show at the Westchester Collaborative Theater’s inaugural Halloween Play Festival in Ossining, NY in October 2024 and the Ossining Recreation & Parks Fright Night on the Haunted Kill!
