I graduated SUNY at Albany with a Bachelor’s Degree in English and soon discovered a passion for theatre. In 2003 I graduated with an MA in Theatre, also from SUNY at Albany. For several years I worked in community theatre where I wrote and directed several plays for children. My collection of adult plays includes Love in Quarantine and Waiting for Grayson. Both plays were produced by Westchester Collaborative Theater in Ossining, NY. In 2014, I began studying the craft of writing for children and young adults at Vermont College of Fine Arts where I was the first-ever recipient of the Angela Johnson Scholarship for BIPOC writers. In 2016 I graduated with an MFA in Creative Writing. I’ve also had the pleasure of studying the craft of writing for children at Bath University in Bath, England. My first completed YA novel is titled, A DRAGONFLY IN WINTER.
