My name is Kimberly Mallory. I’m an author, playwright, and co-creator of the podcast On The Forefront. OTF is an ongoing conversation between two artists, sharing thoughts and ideas about current events and contributions made by women in the fields of social and climate justice.

Reflections on 2020: The Covid 19 pandemic was a trial run for humanity. A time for self-reflection and to take a deep and honest look into our souls. To ask ourselves difficult questions about what we find there. To either reject what is reflected back or courageously confront it. I learned that I love my country with all its flaws and imperfections. I love my country. I love Democracy and its institutions. I love freedom. But exercising my right to freedom and choice doesn’t give me the right to infringe on the rights and freedoms of others. I learned that tolerance for those whose opinions differ from my own is not something that flows easily from my heart. I must consistently remind myself that their feelings and beliefs are just as important as my own. Being a part of the human race requires a continual rejection of our most base instincts. The unwillingness to do so makes us no better than animals. I learned that heroes wear scrubs and stethoscopes. They sew masks for those in need and make cards for the elderly in nursing homes. Within a hero’s heart beats the spirit of the poor widow who had only one mite to give; it was the smallest of all Roman coins, and yet, she gave it freely. My hope for the future is that we hold steadfast to the lessons that 2020 taught us and that the spirit of the widow finds a home in all our hearts.

“When they go low, we go high!” This mantra (thank you, Michelle Obama) reminded everyone that peaceful protests make change possible and ensures your message rather than your anger is heard.

Asylum seekers are NOT criminals. Children should NEVER be separated from their parents. We MUST do better than this. The 2020 presidential election proved we believed WE COULD.

On November 7, 2020 when Joe Biden was announced President-Elect of the United States and Kamala Harris as his VP and the first woman of color to hold such a position women, men, and children filled Washington Square Park in NYC. This woman showed the Trump Admin that yeah, the P**** does grab back! Victory is sweet!

Emerging Markets

I help established brands understand new audiences in emerging markets, with a special focus on shifting definitions of luxury in rapidly modernizing economies.

Color Forecasting

I’ve conducted numerous color studies for major fashion houses to help predict palettes for seasonal collections. I have contacts with research organizations in over forty countries to deliver a truly international perspective.

Today, I consult for a variety of international brands and am a frequent lecturer at conferences and continuing education programs. I’m also writing a book on the psychology of color, to be published next year.
